FOUNDER, OWNER & DIRECTOR
As the original founder of the business, I’m immensely proud that 40 years on we are still innovating, stepping up to the challenges set by our clients and delivering high quality tooling and moulding services. We still have clients today who have remained loyal to BEC since the start, that’s testament to our hard work and unrivalled expertise. My role now is to ensure the continued success of the business, creating a legacy for the future however I’m an engineer at heart, so I’m naturally drawn to the toolroom and can’t help but get involved with the difficult projects sometimes!
My role is to ensure the business is on track to achieve its mission, specifically focusing on the strategic, commercial and financial goals. I joined the team over 10 years ago but, as Dad started the business when I was born, it feels like I have been here all my life! I’m particularly happy when I can help customers to bring their products to market, especially if they’ve come to us for help when another supplier has let them down.
DESIGN & INNOVATION
I’m in charge of CAD drawings and have been with BEC for 30 years. I think our wealth of experience and flexible approach makes us different from our competitors, it’s why customers come to us. Working with customers and seeing their ideas come to life has got to the best bit though. Outside of work hours you’ll find me on the golf course!
QUALITY AND PRODUCTION MANAGER
As Head of Quality, my role is varied, from maintaining our Quality Management Systems, overseeing our production shop floor, buying materials, as well as liaising with customers and suppliers. I’ve been with BEC for 22 years and think it’s our reliability, friendly service and experience that makes customers want to deal with us. My job is so versatile, no two days are the same which keeps me on my toes! As a football season ticket holder, I get to the game as often as I can.
SALES & PLANNING MANAGER
I’m often our customer’s first port of call. I liaise with our customers on a daily basis, sorting pricing and quoting, planning projects, handling new business and providing lead times. I see how our customers benefit from the fact we have everything under one roof, and because we love a challenge we accept trickier jobs. I know I’m lucky because the people I work with are great, we’re like one big happy family! Outside of work, I go to the gym, socialise with friends and have 2 huge dogs which are my life!
I’m in charge of the general running of the toolroom, mould tool design and manufacture. From initial customer CAD concept to finished production moulding. I’ve been here 23 years. What makes BEC different? Our ability to produce full production tooling in prototype tooling lead times using all our in-house facilities. The variety of work and constant challenges keeps things interesting. In my spare time I enjoy motorcycle trials, Enduro riding with my 7-year-old son and I play the drums.
