As a well-established, agile SME, we’re investing to meet demand!

2020 will certainly be THE year that’s etched in our memories!  From rapidly moving, life-threatening pandemic to coronavirus vaccine approved in record time, we have experienced catalysts for change in more ways than one this year.

In manufacturing terms, we’ve seen a significant shift in buyers proactively seeking stability from their supply chains, considering reshoring and turning to home-grown UK manufacturing for agile, reliable, long-term support.

For our part, we are immensely proud of the role the entire BEC team have played.  Collaborating with innovative clients and design agencies, assisting in the production of the “world’s safest visors” amongst other milestone projects, adapting our operation quickly, efficiently and without question, when the demand arose.

A massive THANK YOU to our fabulous BEC team, our clients and suppliers – you have shown grit, determination and resilience this year and it’s been a privilege to work with you all.  Thanks also to the GTMA for their tireless support for UK manufacturing.

Like many UK-based SME’s, we’ve shown engineers, designers and innovators that we’re well-placed to support the country as it recovers from 2020 – after all, we’ve weathered many storms in our 42-year history.  So, to support our plans for long-term growth and in response to an increased demand for UK-made, we have invested across our manufacturing shop floor.

A warm welcome for our 2 new employees, Daniela and Abraao, who have joined the team as Operators.

We’ve also invested in new machinery.  The first is the Arburg Allrounder 375 V vertical moulding machine, allowing us to manufacture specialist filters and other overmoulding products (e.g. DEF filters for the automotive industry) and the second, an Arburg Allrounder 320 C Golden Horizontal moulding machine, used for more traditional plastic injection moulding projects.

These investments, on top of those we made earlier in the year with the XYZ CNC lathe and the super-impressive CNC 4th axis milling machine, allow us to offer an even bigger range of plastic injection moulding services.  All from our factory here in Hampshire.  Because we’ve invested across the board – both in the mould shop and the toolroom – it expands our capabilities and enables us to give our customers tighter control of their injection moulded products and components.  We can also be more flexible and more agile in response to rapidly changing demands.

With 2020 almost behind us, we look forward to 2021 and the exciting new programme of innovative projects already lined up.

Merry Christmas to you all, have a fabulous break and here’s to a happier, healthier, just as productive 2021!

NB: We will close for the holidays from 22nd December and will reopen on 4th January.  We look forward to working with you in 2021.
