Made in Britain

BEC Group are proud to have officially become members of Made in Britain.

BEC has a rich history of manufacturing tooling, injection moulding and filters solely in the UK for over 45 years. Joining Made in Britain formally recognise this and gives us the opportunity to join a growing community of British manufacturers.

Made in Britain was launched as a non-profit in 2013 as a means of supporting and promoting British manufacturers with its iconic collective trademark. A focus on responsible business, sustainable growth and encouraging the creation and continuation of skilled jobs evolved. Now with over 1700 members, Made in Britain members span over 20 industries, with members producing everything from polytunnels to picnic blankets.

To be eligible to join Made in Britain, physical product manufacturers must carry out 100% of the labour to produce it within Great Britain or Northern Ireland. Every tool, moulding and filter that BEC produces is made on site in Hampshire.

Our mould tools are crafted from P20 tool steel from Buckinghamshire. Once they arrive at BEC these steel blocks are carefully designed and machined on site to produce the mould tools from which the plastic parts are made. From here, the tools are moved into our mouldshop and either plastic mouldings or filters are made.

“Becoming a member of Made in Britain highlights one of the aspects of BEC that we’re most proud of. We’re a British company, and everything we produce comes out of one site in Hampshire. Carrying out all tooling and moulding on site allows for easier production, competitive pricing for our customers and streamlined communication. Being able to use the instantly recognisable Made in Britain trademark will make it clear to customers that we’re proud to produce everything on shore in Britain” Katie Reed, Commercial Director, BEC Group.

Sedex Membership

As part of our drive towards continuous improvement we have become members of Sedex. This comprehensive platform allows businesses to gain visibility of their supplier’s critical data relating to sustainability, environmental performance and working conditions throughout their supply chain.

By tracking and sharing data efficiently with our customers we aim to support them in improving their overview of each link in their supply chain, and how it can be improved.

Sedex began life over twenty years ago as a way for members to easily share supply chain and operational data. Now, Sedex members operate in 170 countries in over 40 industries. This vast network of buyers and suppliers makes for much more efficient collaboration and data sharing.

We hope to work with Sedex further as more of our customers look to join organisations that share data and insights into their suppliers.
