Solar Panels Installed
BEC Group continues to invest in sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint with the installation of solar panels on our filters block building. BEC used local contractors Barry Frampton (based in Lymington) to supply and install thirty-four solar panels onto the roof.
The solar panels installed will help to supply the BEC factory and office with electricity throughout the day; reducing our reliance on the national grid, as well as our energy bills that like many other manufacturers are at an all-time high.
Plastics Recycling Show Europe
In line with BEC Group’s drive towards sustainability we attended the Plastics Recycling Show Europe in Amsterdam to find out more about the recycled polymers available to moulders, and how we can improve our in-house recycling.
The PRS event was a brilliant way for the team to learn more about recycled materials, machinery, and innovation across the plastics sector. After facing difficulties sourcing a steady supply of recycled plastics in the UK, by expanding our search to European suppliers we were able to source a larger range of recycled materials including polypropylenes and ABS.
A compelling talk from industry experts on the issues surrounding PET recycling and the circular economy touched on packaging, legislation, and food contact rules.
